Miller Field and Gateway National Park make up New Dorp Beach's northeast border. This state park is 187-acres of beach, trails, soccer fields, and playgrounds. There's also New Dorp Beach itself, should you want to frolic in the waves.

If you're looking to rent in New Dorp Beach, you'll mostly find converted beach houses and attached homes. The people who live here are primarily of Italian and Irish stock, but it's a diverse neighborhood. The gross fair market rent for a two-bedroom place in New Dorp Beach comes in at $1,410.

For commuters, the Staten Island Railway station in New Dorp is the closest. Express buses run along Hylan Boulevard. Many locals commute by car and expect a long commute to Brooklyn or Manhattan when traffic is bad.
