Many Beavercreek residents work at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, one of the largest employers in the state. The base serves as the headquarters for the Air Force Materiel Command, which conducts research, development, testing and evaluation, as well as providing acquisition management services and logistics support for Air Force weapons systems.

Oil well drilling equipment manufacturer Robbins and Myers, one of the largest companies in the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area, has a presence in Beavercreek. Another major employer, Kettering Health Network, is based in the neighboring city of Kettering. The Beavercreek City School District serves Beavercreek, Fairborn, Kettering, Riverside, Sugarcreek Township and Xenia. It is comprised of five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. The district has been rated "excellent" by the Ohio Department of Education numerous times. During the 2010-2011 school year, the district met or surpassed every measure of performance and progress assessed by the state.

In terms of further education, there are several colleges and universities located in and around Beavercreek, including Central State University, Sinclair Community College, the University of Dayton, Wilberforce University and Wright State University.
