Living in Circleville, OH
A large Hopewell-era earthwork that comprised of a 1,100-foot diameter circle that led to a 900-foot square was later the design the town was platted as. It was also where the city got its name from. Although the community is one of the earliest examples of urban development, it is no longer designed in this way and is situated in a traditional grid system.
As the seat of Pickaway County, the architecturally significant community embraces a rich past but pushes forward as a modern city. People living in Circleville apartments have access to employment at several area Fortune 500 companies as well as manufacturers. Top employers of the area include DuPont, General Electric, PPG and Georgia-Pacific.
Circleville Attractions and Special Events
Known as one of the largest festivals in the country, every fall more than 400,000 visitors travel to Circleville for the Pumpkin Show. Since 1903, this agricultural exhibit has been a beloved event, with carnival rides, contests and loads of pumpkins. During October, the town transforms into an orange haven for four days, and it was the spot of the largest pumpkin pie in 2003, which spanned 14 feet in diameter (it was beat by a 20-foot pie in 2010). The Pumpkin Show also crowns a Miss Pumpkin and Little Miss Pumpkins at every event.
