The city of Englewood is located in southwest Ohio, approximately 15 miles northwest of Dayton and 50 miles north of Cincinnati. It is situated in Montgomery County and considered part of the Dayton-Springfield metropolitan area. Englewood was originally settled in 1841, with the first post office arriving to the area decades later in 1870. While it was first named Harrisburg, in 1898 the city was renamed Englewood and officially incorporated as a village in 1914. Three years later, Englewood was reincorporated as a city.
