Mason is the largest city in Warren County in the southwest region of Ohio. The county is nicknamed Ohio’s Largest Playground for the various recreation activities that surround the area. The name was officially changed to Mason three years later.
For another 125 years, the community remained a small farming community, until voters approved a governing charter in 1969. By 1970, approximately 5,700 residents lived in the town. Mason was incorporated in 1971. Today, developers and business owners created a carefully planned community to serve residents and business of the area.
Mason’s progressive workforce is constantly improving. In the past 15 years, Mason has become home to numerous national companies and is now one of the area’s largest hubs for international business. The industrial facilities in Mason employ nearly as many people that live in the city. The 15 largest employers in Mason provide work for more than 9,000 people, which generate roughly $5.3 million annually in income tax revenue.
