There are also several places of higher education within 20 miles of the township, and these include Saint Joseph's University, Villanova University and Philadelphia University.

East Norriton has been a "town twin" with Treptow, Germany, since April 1991, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The first democratically elected mayor, Michael Brückner, contacted East Norriton Township to establish a partnership program. East Norriton maintains its ties with Treptow and is making an effort to further its connections through an exchange program.
