Living in Exton

In the late 1800's, the center of town was at the intersection of Lancaster Road and Pottstown Pike. Lancaster Road was a major route to and from Philadelphia while Pottstown Pike lead to nearby Pottstown. The traffic from travelers and pioneers resulted in the development of a town at the intersection of these thoroughfares. In the late 1940s, the Newcomen Society of the United States built their headquarters in the heart of town. The neighborhood boasted a print shop, library, museum and a church. Although the Newcomen Society has since left the area, their historic building still remains.

Today, Exton has a population of approximately 4,700. In addition as being a center of retail activity, the neighborhood is known for its commitment to education, creativity and recreation. The town is focused on providing family-friendly opportunities for fun and relaxation as well as places for singles to enjoy fun activities.

Your family can visit the Tower Theater and enjoy a performance or show. The Arden Theatre is another place where you can watch performances and plays for the whole family. During the winter months, several public outdoor and indoor ice rinks open up for an inexpensive day of fun. Everyone can lace up their skates.

After a day out and about, you can enjoy a classic performance at the Colonial Theatre and follow this up with a leisurely stroll through the Anson B. Nixon Park.

If you have a more distant destination, you can head into Philadelphia and take advantage of Amtrak train service, Greyhound bus service or use the Philadelphia International Airport.
