For additional nightlife, concerts and a lively restaurant scene, Philadelphia is only 25 miles west of Malvern.

Community activities are sponsored by the borough's recreation department, local parents groups such as the MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support) and the Malvern Public Library, which was expanded in 2003 to include a reading room and children's porch. The library collection includes 39,000 print and electronic items.

The Malvern Business and Professional Association sponsors and annual tree lighting and Victorian Christmas celebration, a spring family festival, a week-long Grand Prix bicycling event, a fall harvest festival and an annual fashion show and luncheon to benefit the Paoli Hospital Cancer Center Wellness Day.
