Overview of Logan Square
The neighborhood of Logan Square, in Center City West, gathers proudly around one of William Penn’s five original parks. This one’s famous for it’s fantastic fountains. Around this area, you’ll find most of the city’s central business district, including impressive Penn Center. You’ll also get some the city’s best cultural attractions, such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Franklin Institute, and the Rodin Museum. If you want to live in one of Philadelphia’s premiere pads, you should take a look at Logan Square apartments.
When Philadelphia was just getting started the park in the middle of this neighborhood was called Northwest Square. Back then it was used for public executions—not so lovely. In 1825, the land was renamed in honor of statesman James Logan. The original right angle boundaries of the park remain today, but it’s more often called Logan Circle—the Benjamin Franklin Parkway creates that shape bypassing the central area. The neighborhood, however, is still known as Logan Square.
Logan Square Lifestyle and Entertainment
