Officially incorporated in 1887, this community approximately 15 miles south of Philadelphia has a diverse population of approximately 7,000 residents, and residents living here have a number of recreational activities to choose from.
The borough’s East Lake Park features the 14-acre man-made lake created in the 19th century. The recreation area is a popular place to fish, walk or just sit and relax. The lake is also the setting for the annual fireworks display and Victorian Fair. The community houses several other urban green spaces with tot lots, ball fields, walking trails and picnic facilities. You can view many fine examples of the borough’s original Victorian style architecture as you stroll through the historic district. In addition to the fair, the borough hosts several other cultural gatherings, including a weekly farmers market during warmer months and several holiday-related activities later in the year.
It is easy to get around town here. Commuters can use a network of major surface streets, Interstate 95 and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) regional rail and bus system for travel in and around Ridley Park neighborhoods.

The largest employers of residents living in the borough are in the manufacturing, health care and government sectors.
