One of the biggest family-friendly events in the city is the Apple Dumpling Festival held in Willow Glen Park, a tradition in Burks County for more than 50 years. Taking a hint from old-time county fairs, residents here enjoy pie eating contests, watermelon seed spitting contests, and of course, thousands of delicious homemade apple dumplings for Sinking Springs residents.
