The township is named after Warrington, England.

Gifford Pinchot encompasses approximately 2,338 acres and consists of farm fields, wooded hillsides and the 340-acre Pinchot Lake. Roundtop is popular for adventurous activities such as zip-lining, summer tubing, bumper boats, snowboarding and paintball fields.
