Overview of Northwest Austin

Northwest Austin covers quite a bit of territory. Primarily, this quadrant of metropolitan Austin is residential, but there are hipper, busier neighborhoods closer in to the city. As you travel outwards, the area takes on a more leisurely suburban feel, with rolling hills and fewer commercial zones. Picture family-friendly streets with pockets of stores and restaurants.

Most of the homes in this part of Austin were built in the 1970s and '80s. The farther from Downtown you get, however, the newer the construction. The Austin suburbs keep growing to meet demand! Everything north of 2222 and west of the MoPac Expressway to the city limits is considered Northwest Austin.

Check out Reed's Supper Club, for live jazz and dry martinis.
