Cityplace, Dallas, TX
Living in Cityplace, TX
Apartment living in Cityplace, a neighborhood in the Oak Lawn/Uptown section of Dallas, TX, enables you to live close to the center of Dallas in an evolving community that is bringing the new urbanist ideal to life. In the early 2000s, Cityplace underwent major changes spurred by the city that continue today.
This new vision for the area created a sense of place with tree-lined streets, open spaces, public transit and new residential construction. The area is anchored by the 42-story Tower at Cityplace, the tallest building outside downtown. The neighborhood even features a trolley line of vintage cars with a "turnaround" at Cityplace station.
Cityplace Lifestyle and Entertainment
Cityplace offers a hip urban lifestyle for the young professionals it attracts. The neighborhood includes the West Village, a planned space that offers cafes, restaurants, lounges and a vibrant nightlife. The Magnolia Theater in the West Village was named the best theater in Dallas. It offers a decided alternative to the suburban megaplex with an attached contemporary and stylish cocktail suite, The Magnolia Bar.
The West Village is in addition to all that Uptown Dallas has to offer. The area is generally considered the most fashionable in the city with many eateries, pubs, boutiques and the gallery art scene along McKinney Avenue. It also is close in to other exciting Dallas sites, such as the Arts District and Deep Ellum.
The Cityplace Rental Market
The rental market in Cityplace is varied and ranges from the affordable to high-end. Many of the apartment, condo and townhome rentals in this neighborhood are in newer buildings or loft conversions made since 1990s. Studio apartment rentals start at about $650 a month, with one-bedrooms going for $700 to $1,000. A two-bedroom in an upscale building on a pedestrian friendly street may cost from $2,000 to $2,600 monthly.
