East Dallas Lifestyle and Entertainment
The area of East Dallas is full of bustling cafes, coffeehouses and pubs. Wine bars and vintage shops are right at home alongside brand name retail outlets, art houses and theaters. The alternative music scene that took over the jazz and blues venues in Deep Elum continues to thrive. For outdoor recreation, you can't beat White Rock Lake, which became a city park in 1929. Today, people flock to the lake to relax and picnic, sail and fish. Also nearby is Fair Park, home to the State Fair of Texas, as well as numerous museums, gardens and historic buildings.
