For years, the Preston Road was the only connection to downtown Dallas. Today, the Dallas Tollway has speeded that commute. The area was name for the woods, creeks and hollows west of Preston Road, something unique to Dallas. To ensure it remained, home builders were required to preserve it.

Boone Pickens, Ross Perot, and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, among others.
