The city of Euless is named for early settler Elisha Euless who bought land here in 1879. A Tennessee native, he built a home and cotton gin. He also built a Grange Hall, which served as the local school. The community seemed to come together around this young man and his property. His fellow settlers named the town in his honor. Later, Euless was elected Sheriff of Tarrant County. The city grew slowly but steadily from just 25 people in 1915 to more than 51,000 today.
