George Bush Park adjacent to Briar Forest is a tremendous outdoor space for a variety of activities. A Houston city park, it is the sixth largest in the nation. It was renamed in 1997 after President George H.W. Bush. The Buffalo Bayou is a major water source for the park and is a nature preserve within it. Most of the parks attractions are along Westheimer Parkway, which runs through it. The park includes sports fields, a shooting range, model aircraft flying fields, playgrounds and ponds and a system of jogging and bike trails.
