Living in League City, TX

League City may have only been incorporated in 1962, but the history of the area dates back to the early 1800s, when Father Miguel Muldoon was sent to Texas from Mexico to set up missions for the Native Americans there. After he returned to Mexico, J.C. League, an entrepreneur from nearby Galveston, purchased the land, bringing Longhorn cattle and all the makings of a ranch.

The city continued to grow throughout the 19th century, and many of the original buildings and landmarks have been preserved or restored for visitors and residents alike.

Although the city's rich history is intriguing, there is also a plethora of other activities in the area, given its location on the Gulf of Mexico. Boating, fishing and birding are popular in the area, but golf, shopping and dining are also popular activities for residents and visitors alike. League City boasts the third largest pleasure boat anchorage in the U.S.

Parents can feel good about sending their children to the award-winning Clear Creek Independent School District, and all residents can enjoy a range of activities in the city all year round, ranging from music festivals to movies in the park.
