The biggest attraction in Spotsylvania is the National Military Park for the battlefield of Spotsylvania along Route 613. The park is home to four major Civil War battlefields that attract history buffs from across the country each year. The Chatham home is one of the area's most historical houses on the property and once served as a hospital, headquarters and communication center during the war.
