Overview of Northwest Seattle
Even for a city without official neighborhood borders, what constitutes Northwest Seattle remains awfully vague. Most agree the designation includes Broadview, Bitter Lake, Haller Lake, and Greenwood. Some also would add Green Lake, Crown Hill, Sunset Hill, and Whittier Heights area neighborhoods. Ballard and other communities along the ship canal, on the other hand, are contentiously included. Using the more limited definition, Northwest Seattle apartments are those found west of Interstate 5, north of and including Green Lake, and east of 8th Avenue N.W. and Puget Sound.
Most of what you’ll come across in Northwest Seattle are suburban-style homes that suit people across a range of demographics. This isn’t a part of the city that draws tourists. Instead, it’s one that makes for relaxed living and reasonable rents. There are blue-collar neighborhoods as well as tonier areas here.
