Living in Falling Waters, WV
West Virginia was a state which "pitted brother against brother" during the Civil War, and Falling Waters is home to much of this humbling history from the era. The Battle of Falling Waters was fought here on July 2, 1861, and is often considered a key victory that helped the Confederate Army win the Battle of Manassas several weeks later. Falling Waters is also home to several historic homes from the time period, many of which are on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, residents can take advantage of local employment and college opportunities in the area, as well as plenty of outdoor space to learn about the ample plant and wildlife that reside in the state.
Falling Waters Attractions and Special Events
Falling Waters residents are privileged to live near a number of excellent cultural and natural amenities. Those renting Falling Waters apartments are mere minutes from the soothing (and some say healing) mineral waters of Berkeley Springs, while the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area is even closer, and offers excellent hunting, fishing and hiking opportunities.
Residents also enjoy touring historic homes like the Edward Colston House, as well as making day trips to nearby Harper's Ferry, where abolitionist John Brown made a historic attack against the armory for which he was later hanged. Much of Harper's Ferry traditional downtown remains in the style as it was in the 1800s, and provides a step back in time for all who come to visit here.
