Beloit, WI
Overview of Beloit
Home to nearly 37,000 people, Beloit, Wis., has been the "Gateway to Wisconsin" since its origins circa 1836. This historic yet growing town is located directly off I-90, serving as a connecting point between Illinois and Wisconsin.
The New England Immigrating Company moved to Beloit in 1836, helping the small community grow. As members of the company began developing the land, the homestead turned into a full-fledged town. Beloit College was built 11 years later, and more businesses began seeing the appeal of the area. As Beloit grew throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, so did its down-the-road neighbors, Rockford, Ill., and Janesville, Wis. Connected by I-90, the three cities offer easy access to both Madison and Chicago.
The city of Beloit continues to change and evolve as it grows, and those searching for Beloit apartments for rent will find the area to be rural and industrial, as well as peaceful and exciting.
