Overview of Milwaukee
Diversity and character
The East Side itself has a broad demographic range, economically and culturally. The Lower East Side is packed with beautiful buildings, interesting shops, great restaurants and plenty of nightlife, especially if you enjoy Milwaukee-brewed beers at your bars. It's also near essential public transit routes, like the Milwaukee County Transit System bus and the Green Line Express.
For apartment seekers in need of pet friendly places, the Lower East Side has a lot to offer. Not only are there residences for rent where cats and dogs are welcome, but the annual pet parade on Brady Street each October is a can't-miss Milwaukee tradition. If you're coming from outside Milwaukee, it's worth noting that county law requires dog and cat owners to license their pets. This helps you keep your best friend safe in the big city. Still, when it comes down to it, dog-lovers in particular want to know one thing when they're getting ready to move: What are the parks like?
In the Lower East Side of Milwaukee, the parks are amazing.
An un-matched parks system
By name alone, your public park options in this neighborhood are astounding. There's Lakeshore Park, Back Bay Park, Pulaski Park, Cass Park, Kilbourn Park and all the green trails along the nearby Milwaukee River. Outside of your neighborhood, the parks system gets even bigger. In fact, Parks of Milwaukee, as it's known, consists of more than 140 different parks covering 15,000 acres - ideal for picnics, grilling, ice skating in winter, sunbathing in summer and, of course, playing catch with your canine.
Around Milwaukee's downtown you'll find the spectacular Lakeshore Park, with great running and biking paths. Closer to home in your Lower East Side apartment for rent, you'll find Veteran's Park, which is large, spacious and features trails that circle the park lagoon, where you can rent paddle boats and hit the water. Or just enjoy the view of Lake Michigan on a long walk along Oak Leaf Trail.
Move to one of the apartments in the Lower East Side and two things are certain. You'll love it - and so will your pet.
