West Allis, WI
Overview of West Allis
West Allis apartments for rent put residents in the southeastern area of Wisconsin in Milwaukee County and just miles outside of the Milwaukee city metropolitan area. The city's name comes from Edward P. Allis, who owned a manufacturing plant to the east. The area where West Allis is today was located west of Allis' plant, and so the name came to be.
People come here for more reasons than just being close to Milwaukee. The business district is thriving and the population continues to grow. West Allis was even named runner-up as a Best Place to Raise Your Kids in 2010 by Business Week Magazine.

West Allis' history began when Wisconsin was still a territory, the nearby Milwaukee was not yet the giant city it is today and most of the surrounding land was teeming with forests and natural beauty and wildlife. West Allis was officially chartered as a city in 1906 and was originally made up of 2,306 people who lived across the 2,400 acres of land.
Today, West Allis has grown to a population of more than 60,700 people, according to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2011. West Allis apartments can now be found across the 11.39 square miles of land encompassed by the city.
