Built in 1906, The Brandeis was once a local department store called J.L. Brandeis and Sons, a Midwestern icon. It’s now a modern apartment building located in downtown Omaha with concierge service, a clubroom and a movie theater.

The apartment building features a 24-hour gym among its classic architecture and 16-foot ceilings. Plus, it’s only one block from the Culprit Cafe and Bakery, which includes a variety of coffee options and pastries and breads made in-house.

You can walk to everything from the Mayfair, including the TD Ameritrade Park to catch the College World Series or the Home Run Derby. But before the ballgame, you can grab a seasonal brew at Rally Coffee Company on 14th Street.


We looked at all multifamily apartment complexes in Omaha with active listings on and and rated them on the number of coffee-related businesses within a half-mile radius. We used an exponentially decreasing scale based on distance from the apartment. For instance, a coffee shop across the street would score higher than a coffee shop a quarter-mile away. Our coffee-related establishment counts come from commercially available business listings.
