Omaha is full of coffee shops serving up delicious coffee, lattes and mochas. While every cafe on this list serves up delicious caffeinated beverages, each one stands out for other reasons.
Coffee and comics
Relax with your beverage while browsing racks of comic books. Legend Comics & Coffee is a Midtown coffee shop/comic book store. If you enjoy either of those things, you’ll be happy at Legend.
Archetype Coffee has a cult following due to its scientific approach to coffee. The beans are roasted in-house, just so, in order to create the smoothest coffee ever. The original Archetype is in the Blackstone District. Its popularity has allowed it to expand to a second location, in the up-and-coming Little Bohemia neighborhood.
Going for the baked goods
Sometimes, you have a go-to coffee shop that’s really just an excuse to eat good pastries. Culprit Cafe fits into this category. There are two locations – one downtown and one at Midtown Crossing – both with treats to die for. Oh, and the coffee and lattes are good, too.
Coffee for the bikers
Omaha’s biking community has a few options for coffee shops that offer bike service as well as a good cup of joe. Omaha Bicycle Co. in Benson and Bike Union Coffeehouse in downtown Omaha are two to check out.
The coffee shop that needs more locations
You know how a really good coffee shop adds a new location or two over time? Crane’s Coffee is that kind of place in Omaha. Crane now has eight locations, including two in hospitals.
And, yet, sometimes it just feels like they should have even more locations. The coffee and specialty drinks are among the best, and as a bonus, they have crave-worthy scones (try the chocolate chunk).
Fair trade coffee at its best
If the source of the beans is important to you, check out a few of the coffee shops brewing up fair trade coffee, including Urban Abbey in the Old Market and Well Grounded Coffee House in downtown Omaha.
The best in the West
While it seems like downtown Omaha and Midtown enjoy the best coffee shops, West Omaha has its fair share. Two to check out include Green Beans Coffee, known to have delicious mochas, and Karma Koffee, a dog-friendly cafe serving pastries from some of the area’s best shops, including Le Petite French Bakery, Bliss and Stay Sweet Nicola’s.
