Over time, the high temperatures harden the filth and leave behind the ill-appealing evidence. While these tough kitchen messes may be intimidating, there’s a quick and efficient way to clean your oven.

With little effort and time, you’ll have your oven shining bright like a diamond in no time. Now, let’s start cleaning.

Clear it out

The first step to cleaning your oven is to remove the racks. When you remove the racks, you’ll have more room to clean every nook and cranny hiding the remnants of your baking.

While your racks are out, be sure to give them a thorough scrub down in your sink or bathtub with dishwashing liquid and warm water.

Make your cleaner

An easy and efficient way to clean your oven is to whip up an all-natural cleaning mixture. Cut two lemons in half and squeeze the juice into a dish along with the remaining lemon casings. Fill the dish 1/3 full of water and place it into the oven. Bake the lemon mixture at 250 degrees for 30 minutes and wait. Because citrus oils work well on grease, this mixture will absorb to easily cleanse the stubborn stains and spills.

Now would be a good time to clean the racks you’ve already taken out. Or, you can sit back and relax as you rest up for the next step.

When the 30 minutes are up, remove the lemon mixture. Once the oven has cooled, use a scouring pad to scrub remaining stains. To remove hard to reach spills, use a spatula to effortlessly remove larger chunks.

Use the remaining lemon mixture to rinse away the grime you scrubbed up from the oven’s surface and then dry the interior with a clean towel. When it’s completely dry, you can return the cleaned racks back into their rightful place. You now have a squeaky-clean oven that required little time and elbow grease.

Make it fun, not a chore

Raise your hand if you dread cleaning. Know you’re not alone. Cleaning can be a tiring chore that we all tend to push off for as long as we can. However, your oven shouldn’t be left with stains and spills on a regular basis.

But when cleaning your oven is as easy as whipping up a lemon mixture and baking it for half an hour, it won’t seem like a chore. In fact, if you’re up for the challenge, go ahead and clean your fridge too.
