The place is ok, nothing special. Rents went up for several consecutive years, especially after management changed. Service has declined. We used to know our manager pretty well, but there has been a revolving door at the management office the last few years and I can't keep up with them. They also instituted a number of unpopular new policies that residents disliked, including restrictions on holiday decorations, and even restrictions on doormats. It resulted in many neighbors moving out, and the place feeling less like a community.

They take 200 dollars from you and make you think you are accepted and then they say after they deny you it takes 30 days to get your money back. THAT IS ILLEGAL> Be careful of them

The price you pay to rent at Monticello Apartments is a great value considering the location. We are minutes from the beach and can easily walk to the wetlands or Bolsa State park. The area is safe and surrounded by nice housing communities. The building is not brand new, so the apartment has a few issues with cupboards and isn't completely redone, but it is clean and has new, working appliances. Any maintenance requests are taking care of right away and the exterior/pool is very well kept.

Utilities are old, paint peels off when it's hot out, and it smells like cigarette smoke even though none the individuals who live in my apartment are non-smokers. Also, parking is not good. We are given 2 spots in the parking lot, and it is rare to actually find one after 6:00 p.m.
