Living in Lafayette, CA

The city has a rich historical background; it was discovered in 1847 after one of the first Yankee settlers, Elam Brown, purchased a plot of land. Brown decided to build three homes on the land, which made Lafayette the first established town in Contra Costa County. Over the years, people started opening businesses throughout the town; however, it wasn't until after World War II until the quiet farming community turned into a residential neighborhood.
