This community boasts an over abundance of Rats and Rabbits which brings in the coyotes at night. Everyone who lives here has had or is having or will have payment issues with management. Cars get broken into every almost every night. In response to the break ins, property management had the carports removed and now the city of Mission Viejo will not approve the permits for new carports.Yes!!!!! Vista Del Lago Apartments had the original carports demolished before getting the permits for the new carports. Now, the parking lots are dark and more car are getting broken in too. Over 30 years of paint on the walls, doors and hinges. The cheapest construction grade equipment has been installed in all the units. The buildings themselves are very energy inefficient. Expect to have high electricity bills over $200.00 a month. Sliding glass patio doors and windows are all over 30 years old and energy inefficient. You can feel the summer heat radiate inside the apartments. The front doors all have huge gaps allowing all the bugs, ants and spiders to walk right on in. Maintenance crew are ok. They do the best they can. Property management employees seems to have a high turn over rate. After living here for a few years, I wish I would have kept looking for other apartments. These apartments should realistically only go for $1,500 to $1,800 a month. Until Vista Del Lago Apartments start renovating the old, tired and overpainted interiors of these apartments, dont pay over $2,000 a month in rent for any of the apartments unless you have no choice. All in all Vista Del Lago Apartments has fallen into disrepair. All the landscaping and pictures taken of the property cant change that. This is our last lease with VDL. We are out of here

Too pricey for outdated place and its not spacious .
