Living in North Hills, CA

The North Hills/Mission Hills area has one of the richest histories of Los Angeles County, with missionaries arriving as early as the 18th century. In 1916 the orchard and farm land that is now occupied by North Hills was the site of the San Fernando Valley's first oil well, and a few buildings in the area still hearken back to a time when the area had something of a Wild West feel. Known as Sepulveda until the early 1990s, the neighborhood changed its name as part of an overhaul that saw new modern touches and amenities. North Hills is further divided into the North Hills East and North Hills West areas.

Today, the neighborhood, which is home to around 59,000 people according to L.A. Department of City Planning estimates, is a quiet place, marked by its residential character and relaxed pace of living. Residents of North Hills apartments enjoy calm streets and easy access to Interstate 405 and all the conveniences of the San Fernando Valley.
