      This was the premier rental community in the area with a dynamic leasing office team. I've been a resident for 4+ years. I knew every person by name, as they made a point of introducing themselves and engaging with residents. Now I don't know a anyone's name in our leasing office but I'm there as often as always. My last renewal I had to chase them and place several calls to request the necessary renewal documents. The property is unkempt & dirty. The entire building is carpeted and the carpeting in the corridors are always dirty with debris, spills (including pet waste) as they are rarely vacuumed and haven't been shampooed in a lot time, when they used to get shampooed twice a year at a minimum. The corridors aren't maintained, there are holes & scuffs. A handrail got ripped off the wall last spring and remains un-repaired. There are a much greater number of residents with visiting health aids, who routinely place rocks in exterior doors so they can smoke cigars and cigarettes and not get locked out. This knocks the doors out of alignments so they don't open/close property affecting security. Cigar/cigarette filters and waste accumulates and isn't cleaned. Not to mention a number of these home healthcare aids are incredibly rude when me or any other resident kicks the rock or twig away so the building can be secured. Then there's the change in pet policy, which now allows dogs. I'm a pet lover, but because of my schedule, I'm simply not around enough to have one. That said, there are A LOT of dogs now, including Pitbulls (one in particular is always muzzled because of its aggressiveness). Management doesn't care. You can't walk anywhere that isn't paved because the amount of dog feces and waste is disgusting. The wooden outdoor staircases are routinely urinated on and the stench is unbearable. There is a well maintained pool, package services, a microbrewery across the street and it's conveniently located.

      We have had multiple issues with our upstairs neighbors that we have spoken to the office about on several different occasions. Nothing has been done, and the neighbors have been spiteful about our complaints. It is unacceptable to allow your residents to treat their neighbors the way they do, and to constantly be yelling, arguing, fighting, etc., disrupting all of the apartments around them. You can bet I will be moving out at the end of my lease, and will not recommend for anyone to live here.

      Everyone I've met who works at Lofts at the Mills has been wonderfully nice and helpful. However I am extremely dissatisfied with their package acceptance service. I only order a few things a year, so $10/month is an unreasonable amount to pay for apt delivery. Threatening to send back my mail if it is not picked up in 3 days seems unfair as well, especially since the office hours are inconvenient and often changed without notice. Half the time I am not even notified when my packages arrive.

      The apartments are outdated and old. The wall are paper thin, you can hear everything your neighbors do. The management if poor, they are inconsistent. They recently accused me of not paying my rent, though I had done it on time. It was an extremely drawn out process to add someone to my lease, because the management kept giving me different answers/directions about what needed to be done. The online work order form does not work. The gym is outdated with old machines.

      When I first moved in, the staff was mostly attentive to my needs. The longer I lived there, the less attentive the staff became. It took them two months to find out about a fixed a roof leak into my apartment and for three weeks I had to live elsewhere because the AC unit for the apartment stopped working. Until the AC unit incident, I did suggest this place for friends and co workers but will no longer because of the incident.

      When I go outside my front door there needs to be some sort of smoking area or smoking tower. The cigarette butts all over the front of the stairs is just disgusting and there's no reason for it.I know that there is a cigarette tower at the back of the building but honestly, nobody is going to go all the way back to the building to smoke a cigarette. They sit on the front steps and throw their cigarette butts in the bushes and it's disgusting.
