    Smoking building big time, weed cigarettes, crack you some it.The smoke in residential common areas is so bad it sets off fire alarms and clings to your clothes and hair.In my 25 years of renting this is the worst place in following average standards of living, poor maintenance,false upgades,they just spray everything with paint ;rust,mold,water damage,cracks,rodent infestation in every floor.Mail and package theft everyday.police ,firefighters and emt come almost everyday if not more than once a day specially after 10 pm.They are mentally incapacitated tenants unsupervised and drug addicts residing running around begging for money and acting out without any supervision or aid,they will harass and taunt you no matter how much you ignore them.The moving part is the 3rd worst issue for tenants is 2 blocks away from main building through a sub basement you have 2 go through 2 ramps as well as 2-3 door to get to regular elevator because their is no freight elevator the entrance for moving in is in the middle of Wyoming St. while the main building is in the corner of 19th st. and Wyoming St.They will tell you after you move and Han over the check that is a smoking building and the move in loading dock is a the length of a football field unless you live in the basement .You will loose your voice,sleep and;patience asking for help from management and maintenance,if they try to fix something it only last 2 weeks or it does not get repaired properly or finished.Your lease will with the same issue theorevious tenant begire you had so that it the norm.SAFETY IS AN ISSUE;DRUG DEALS IN THE HALLS,PEOPLE COMING IN WITH STOLEN,PURSES THAT OBVIOUSLY NOT THEIRS.TERRANCE has downplayed the situation to higher authorities;police department,housing and health depts.,forget getting rights and protections a human being deserves.Many desperate tenants stuck in bad & unlivable situation in here.

    The Promenade is more of a community than other apartment buildings I have lived in--people say hello in the elevator and hallways, introduce themselves while sitting by the pool, and chat in the laundry room. It's a great sign that I keep meeting people who like it so much they have moved from one unit to another in the building (usually to upgrade to having a balcony). I love my view of Kalorama Park and how much light my apartment gets through my huge windows. I really feel like I get a lot of bang for my buck in terms of how much space I have for a relatively low studio rent (and short lease term!) for this great neighborhood. It's easy for me to get to work, and it's even a pretty walk to the metro. My favorite grocery in the neighborhood is less than ten minutes away on foot. The pool and grill area is just an added bonus at this wonderful place to live.
