Currently this place is called Latitude 28 Apartments. It used to be called East Pointe at Altamonte. Priorto that, it used to have 2 names, each for the two adjacent properties it comprises: The Palms and Villas.
In 2014 and now, the "Villas" side, which contains townhomes, is much better than the "Palms" side, which has the covered carports.
The apartments on the "Villas" side have sturdy, well-insulated walls and ceilings. You won't even realize it's raining without looking out the window. So quiet and peaceful!
But, beware of the apartments on the side with the carports. These apartments feel like shacks! Paper-thin walls and ceilings. You can hear everything your neighbor is doing every single day. The floor creaks and squeaks with each step of the upstairs neighbor. If you want to feel like you are living with a roommate and know his/her daily routines, then the first-floor apartment on that side is just for you.
After months of complaints regarding this issue, nothing has been done.
It is true, the buildings are old. Maintenance only does patchwork.
It would br common decency for the apartment to be fully cleaned. But upon moving in, the water heater closet was filled with ants, roaches, and clumps of thick dust. The tops of kitchen cabinets were covered with a layer of dirt and germs. It was horrifying to clean.
Maintenance are intrusive and disrespectful.
In 2014, the area was kept with a natural beautiful look. But now, almost every day the workers are cutting down the trees and palms to bare stubs, making the whole area so hot without any shade.
The apartments are truly overpriced.
