A vibrant and diverse city just outside of Miami, Coral Gables is widely known for its pristine beaches, fine dining, and pedestrian-friendly commercial districts. Designed by George E. Merrick, Coral Gables was one of the first planned communities built during the Florida land boom of the 1920s. And while current-day Coral Gables differs from its humble origins, a lot of those original principles remain the same. The neighborhood is largely a peaceful, residential community that features walkable areas like the Miracle Mile shopping district. Residents of Coral Gables love the beautiful Spanish architecture and open, inviting atmosphere of the city.
The area is also home to the University of Miami, and we mention this separately because the students and university area are considered by locals to be separate from the neighborhood itself. Geographically, the university falls within the boundaries of Coral Gables, but living in Coral Gables and attending the university are two very different things. Luckily, no matter what you're looking for, we have Coral Gables apartments that will suite your needs. Let's move on to talking about the rental market, shall we?
Coral Gables apartments are a fantastic option for professionals and families looking to live in close proximity to some of the best attractions in South Florida. But, of course, living in a year-round paradise with countless amenities comes with a price. While there are certainly some affordable options to be found, the average one bedroom near downtown Coral Gables tends to start at about $1300. The amount of rent you pay depends on what you're looking for in a home and how far away it is from downtown. Many apartments in Coral Gables come with luxurious amenities like pools, gyms, assigned parking, and clubhouses. But there are also options that are more affordable, a bit further away from shopping, and they don't come with the embellishments that some apartments have. It's all in what you want and need!
With over 140 dining establishments, designer shops, bars, and nightlife options, Coral Gables is easily one of the most visited areas in greater Miami. Home to the famous Miracle Mile, Downtown Coral Gables features everything from live theater to delicious pub food. The nightlife in Coral Gables trends more toward a variety of wine bars, gastropubs, and high-end hotel bars. And we know it seems strange to think that locals would hang out at a hotel, but the Biltmore Hotel is a favorite place for locals to mix up their routine and escape the typical Miami bar scene with some jazz and drinks. There are all sorts of little gems in Coral Gables that you will certainly find once you make it your home.
The greater Coral Gables area is also home to a number of exciting and diverse events, including the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, Art Basel Miami Beach, Design Miami, Miami International Film Festival, and many, many more.
A quick search of Coral Gable apartments shows that most landlords in the area accept cats AND dogs. There are certainly a few that don't, but if you do have furry friends to house, your options are not extremely limited.
Caring for your pets is simple in the neighborhood of Coral Gables where you're just a short drive from several pet supermarkets including PetSmart and Petco. There is also a neighborhood Animal Hospital and multiple options for groomers and pet boarding. Plus, if you go toward the ocean to Coconut Grove there are also a couple ocean-side dog parks.
In general, Miami is another one of those big cities that just loves its cars. However, there are several options for public transportation in and out of Coral Cables. The entire neighborhood is served by Metrobus, and while most people choose to not take it, it's always nice to have as an option.
The more popular mode of transport is Miami's Metrorail. Coral Gables contains two green line stops that are both are situated along U.S. 1. The Metrorail is a convenient way to get to South Miami, Downtown Miami, or to the Miami International Airport.
Higher education options in the Coral Gables vicinity include the University of Miami and American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
Some of the major employers in Coral Gables include the University of Miami, the Baptist Hospital of Miami, and Capital Bank Financial, among others.
