A mix of new and old Florida, Palm Coast is one of the Sunshine State's most sought-after communities. With plenty of seaside and inland recreation, high quality of life and optimal location between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, it is no surprise that many Florida residents are calling Palm Coast apartments for rent home. Despite the miles of oceanfront property that this stunning small town has to offer, the cost of living in Palm Coast is more than six points below the national average, according to City-Data. With its affordability, small-town atmosphere and excellent location near many intercoastal waterways, it is no wonder that so many Florida residents are finding excellent apartments here.
Palm Coast was developed by the ITT Corporation in 1966 as a development between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine. The city slowly grew over the next three decades and eventually incorporated in 1999. Today, Palm Coast is one of northeastern Florida's most attractive business communities, with more than 30 mid- to large-sized industrial parks and the area's largest corporation, Palm Coast Data, which currently employs close to 1,000 residents in the area. According to its website, Palm Coast has plans to construct a new city hall and town center as well as preserve environmentally sensitive lands, showing the eco-consciousness and thriving future that this city holds.
As Palm Coast has laid ground as one of the finest developing communities in Florida, it is not shying away from providing many parks and facilities for its citizens, including the Bird of Paradise Nature Reserve, a beautiful place for bird and nature watching. Waterfront Park is another popular place for all the activities that make Florida famous along the Intercoastal Waterway. This park is also slated to serve as a trailhead for a newly completed route that will pass through the beautiful nearby Graham Swamp.
