Conveniently situated at the center of the triangle formed by Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Pinellas Park enjoys the excitement of the Tampa Bay area in a more relaxed small town environment.
With great weather year round and some of the country's most acclaimed beaches just minutes away, people looking for apartments for rent in Pinellas Park can enjoy all that Florida's Gulf Coast has to offer while taking advantage of an approachable community.
Once touted by doctors as the healthiest place in world, the Pinellas peninsula drew many of its first settlers toward the end of the 19th century, and Pinellas Park began to flourish as a transport hub in the early 20th century. By 1925, the population had grown to 2,000 people, and the city began to build a number of community-oriented buildings that helped cement the community. Today, the city of around 49,000 people remains a relaxing retreat with an invigorating climate, and its location between Tampa and St. Petersburg makes it a popular choice for area residents looking to take advantage of its calm streets.
Pinellas Park apartments provide access to a huge range of attractions, including great beaches, shopping and entertainment. Residents can travel the local streets by golf cart and unwind at one of the city's many parks.
Pinellas Park is home to St. Petersburg College Health Education Center, and residents can earn a number of healthcare degrees or certifications in town. Other nearby St. Petersburg College campuses offer a range of other programs, while the area is also home to popular institutions like Eckerd College and the Stetson University College of Law.
Pinellas Park's location on Interstate 275 makes it ideal for St. Petersburg and Tampa commuters, but the city itself hosts a strong, diverse business community as well. Eyeglass lens manufacturer Transitions Optical is headquartered in Pinellas Park, and facilities for companies such as Baxter Healthcare, Catalent Pharma Solutions and Johnson Controls provide the city with a strong manufacturing and sales base.
Less flashy than nearby St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park is predominantly a homeowner community, but a large stock of housing makes it attractive and affordable to renters, who can count on finding a great place at a reasonable price.
U.S. Census Bureau data showed the median gross rent from 2008 to 2010 was $949. Additional research found one bedroom apartments renting for between $600 and $1,150 per month.
With a sunny climate year round, Pinellas Park is particularly suited to outdoor fun, and its location makes it easy for residents to head to nationally acclaimed beaches like St. Pete Beach and Fort De Soto Park, or enjoy the region's great fishing and boating. Pinellas Park's own parks provide a range of athletic and entertainment options, including equestrian trails and facilities. Not only are the streets golf cart friendly, the area is home to many popular golf courses as well.
Pinellas Park residents can check out the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum or take in one of many popular community events, including the annual Country in the Park festival, which draws visitors from the entire area for music, food and fun. The Tampa Bay area also provides endless entertainment and nightlife offerings that range from theme parks and aquariums to world-renowned art museums to beachfront bars and restaurants.
