I left several messages regarding about renting or if they had any openings and weeks have gone by with no calls back ,was disappointed because they where highly recommended by a friend that lives there and he went to the office to see if they where busy and they replied not at all and it's hard for me to come in person working 12 hour shifts

I have lived here for almost 4yrs and sorry it's time to go. Whetstone apartments have been brought out. They are now called 49th st apartments but is still the same exact complex but get this there has been a $300 rent increase. The reason I stayed so long was because it was affordable. Even though the apartments are cheap I liked my neighbors and just got so used to living here. Now with the rent so high w.a promise of a gym and recreational center I decided to say screw this place. All previous staff is gone. There are a few neighbors trying to figure out where they will live next. If your rent goes from 875 to now 1170 what would you do living in the same exact apartment. I am very stressed out and now have to find somewhere else to live. I will not pay that kind of money for this complex. We paid for what we got at 875 or less. Paying more is a scam. Breaks my heart this is happening.

I had been at Whetstone Apartments for 2 years. Everything was great up until I moved. Because of unforeseen circumstances I moved a few months early but still paid my rent monthly to the end. I couldn't afford the lump sum lease buyout. I was advised to drop off my keys anytime while still in town and not trust the US mail to get them there in time. So in June I cleared out my apartment and dropped off my keys. I paid July's rent and that was my last month. The management cashed my check, refund my deposit 2 days later and July 6th moved someone else into my apartment which I had paid for already. When I asked the manager how she can collect double rent she said because I did NOT break my lease. So she doesn't have to reimburse me for any of July. I asked her how can she keep all of my July's rent if she's renting it to someone else. The manager said she can and that's that. I never would of known this happened if it wasn't that I found out from a friend that met the people that moved in. I've lived in many states in many apartments and this is the 1st place that has operated their business like this. It's not the money it's the principal.

My experience with the office staff has been great. I have good neighbors, quiet community, fun activities, and much more. The complex is getting an upgrade to the outside new pain, new roofs, love it here.
