Surrounded by the cultural arts of downtown, fine restaurants, specialty shops and all that prestigious Sarasota has to offer - The Lexington's outstanding location also offers easy access to major interstates, the Sarasota/Bradenton Airport, the waters of Sarasota Bay and the white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico! This apartment has been a huge disappointment! There is only one friendly person in the office, and he is well Read More meaning and tries to be helpful when there's an issue, and there have been plenty. Unfortunately, his hands are tied, since the official position of the management here when dealing with problems is to basically do nothing, except to treat anyone who dares to file a grievance like they are the problem. They either turn a blind eye to a problem as big as a noisy drug addled degenerate living upstairs and poisoning us with his smoke, landing me in the ER, or whitewash the whole matter with lame excuses about how nothing can be done when it's more like there's nothing they feel like doing. The head person in the office is extremely rude, dismissive and condescending. There's an infestation of worms in our apartment that never seem to go away despite supposed pest control on our monthly bill. Our utility bills are high because of inefficient and out of date air conditioning equipment. The water is regularly being turned off to fix one problem or another, including terrible bathroom and kitchen plumbing that has flooded our apartment twice, The one maintenance guy is pleasant and fairly prompt, most of the time, but it's clear by the frequency and the nature of problems here that he's forced to make the most minimal repairs to anything as is possible, and on the cheap. There are supposed rules about parking, disposal of pet waste and conduct around the pool, etc...Few people adhere to these rules because it is clear that there's no consequences for any of it besides easily ignored reminders on the community portal. In short, this place isn't even close to what's advertised, and even at the corporate level, there is no sense of responsibility for these drastic shortcomings. I would not recommend this place to anyone who's looking to enjoy a simple, peaceful and stress-free life!

I have lived at The Lexington for 6 years. There's a reason someone stays that long at an apartment complex, a Read Morend for me, it's not because I can't move ,it's because I don't want to move. The staff, Melody, Patty, and Marty are like family to me. When my dog of 15 years passed, they were all there for me.
I have never walked into to office and felt like I was being ignored, or if anyone was too busy to talk to me. Sundays are laundry day, I go into a very clean, new laundry room, put my laundry in and the go to the clubhouse. I make a iced Chai Tea Latte ( complimentary, by the way), sit on the comfy new sofa and watch the big screen TV. I'll go to the brand new pool and chill while my clothes are in the dryer. No apartment complex is perfect, but you get what you give. Be nice, be respectful, say Please and Thank You. Not rules too hard to live by.
