Local Reviews

My neighborhood is new. I've lived here for 6 years. The homes are beautiful. My favorite business is Publix grocery store, Marshall's, the Dollar store and Chinese restaurant which is near my home in the Sunshine plaza. I like going to restaurants, spiritual events, concerts, theater and dancing.

I like that we have a fire station across the street from my house. I like that it is also quiet and everyone is friendly

Convenient and varied shopping. Near major medical systems. I don't eat out nearby - distrust the cleanliness and food quality.

I love that the supermarket is close by. I also love that its very quiet and has a lot of cameras. We also have multiply restaurants less than 10 minutes away

Its a very private area, with great bars and restaurants within walking distance and parks within a two block walk were you can enjoy a picnic and bring your dogs.

I live in a suburb of a large city and love the weather most of all. There are most every kind of chain restaurant near me, and plenty of locally owned too. I have a standing day to have coffee with friends

Living in Tamarac, FL

Tamarac was officially incorporated in 1963 after its land was developed by Kenneth E. Behring. The developer's vision for Tamarac was as a community comprised of primarily condos and resort-style housing, with a section of town dedicated to single-family homes for privacy-seeking retirees. Indeed, the city grew according to Behring's vision and is now one of Florida's premier communities. Neighborhoods within Tamarac today include the Mainlands, Woodlands, and Tamarac Lakes, the city's oldest neighborhood.

Now that the city has progressed from a retirement community to a thriving, multi-generational city, Tamarac's officials have supported numerous incentives to take the region into the 21st century. The city was certified as a Florida Green Local Government in 2008 and continues to implement sustainable living initiatives today.
