You get what you pay for I've lived in this apartment for several years because it is the cheapest apartment per sqft you can find in tampa as of right now. I've certainly gotten my moneys worth. At least once a year (often several times a year) my apartment has flooded for one reason or another because the building is old. As I write this, I came home to find water has once again flooded my apartment. The time before this, it was a crack in my upstairs neighbors pipe that caused literal cascades of water to pour through my kitchen light and into my kitchen. The time before that, the A/C. Before that? The water heater broke and flooded my apartment. Several times before that, my ground floor neighbor had a leak in their dish washer and that flooded into my apartment. The time before that? A/C again. Before that? Leak in the roof caused by leak in patio. Before that? A/C, broken toilet seam, etc. etc. going all the way back to a broken ring around my Tub which caused my carpeted bed room to be flooded. The maintenance guys are great but there is only so much they can do and the management here has absolved themselves of all responsibility because "You have renters insurance don't you?". Also, apparently the litany of problems all stem from a "variety of issues" despite the fact that a few of these are reoccurring. When asked if they would move me to a new apartment, managements response was only if they increased my rent by a significant amount. In essence it's not a great place to live but it's certainly affordable and that's all that matters to them and I guess to me to a lesser degree. I can tell you one thing though, I certainly would recommend you keep on looking and consider this as a last ditch option. p.s Did I mention the bugs?

As a tenant of almost 2 years I can say the following about Greenwich Commons: Area's around USF can be sketchy at best, however the location of this property is great. I've never had an issue with crime or have felt unsafe. It's a fairly quiet area aside from the occasional traffic noise. I believe you get what pay for, yes the units are older. This isn't a brand new complex but for the price and being in Tampa, I honestly don't think you'll find better. I've seen other properties in Tampa charging much more for apartments that were filthy, worn down and in high crime areas. Staff has always been friendly, when you call the office you don't get an answering service but an actual person. What maintenance issues I've had (and it hasn't been many) they've always come out quickly and the office seems genuine about making sure their tenants are happy. I'm a pretty happy tenant and see myself hopefully staying one for awhile.
