Oglethorpe Place

Sometimes reviews are made up of disgruntled tenants with no real truth BUT if I can save anyone from my horrifying experience the my job is done. Moved here in Dec 2018 it was quiet, convenient, and well priced for the location. When I moved it there were roaches here and there.. I complained.. they sent someone to spray so I was satisfied they were trying to remedy the situation but they were in the walls. Fast forward to beginning of August and I started to see bugs other than roaches .. they were bedbugs!!! Walking the walls, in the kitchen and bathroom sinks, in the kitchen drawers .. EVERY WHERE!!! I called and the manager Shelly acted surprised like she didn't know what the problem was. I showed her pics of my downstairs neighbor patio with all mountains of black bags again she acted surprised knowing that my neighbor had an issue in her unit. Instead of her having the entire building sprayed as a precaution she only had one unit sprayed which caused them to migrate to my unit. I tried to be understanding but it's hard to sleep in a place where you are seeing them move about. I asked to be moved or let or of my lease and in good ratchet fashion Shelly gets mad and turn vindictive towards me because I don't want to live with bedbugs and 30 days is far to long to hope that a treatment will work. I don't think it's fair for me to have to move all my belongings to the patio when I pay rent and for a whole apartment so I don't have to live outside. I bought new furniture when I moved an and had to buy new furniture and clothes after moving out. Cheaper is not always better!!!

People are in abundance today looking for adequate housing. A place they can be proud of to make it a Home! Competition for the housing industry is substantial! The lazy none-caring attitude I have experienced from Oglethorpe Pl. is a disgusting turn-off! I doubt if Corporate Office management is aware of this problem. The attitude of leasing Mgmt. effect the overall attitude and quality of it, Housing Tenants.

I hope they put in some sort of security b/c there was none when I lived there just 2 years ago. I had my car broken into twice, once right under the lone surveillance camera, and neighbors complained about missing packages they were expecting. I won't mention the roach problem!

Oglethorpe Place is very friendly and convenient in terms of where it is located (near Marta, food places, Mall, etc.). For what is paid the apartments are a nice size and you can alter them to make them perfectly fit your specific style.

I have lived at Oglethorpe Place for over 10 years, and it has been a really excellent intown living experience. The staff is friendly and always there when you need them, and I appreciate the amenities available.
