My family and I are relocating from Tennessee to Augusta, GA due to my husband getting a job with Southern Com Read Morepany. We leased an apartment at Traditions for 4 months (while our house is being built) after doing a tour of the property. We were not sent the lease agreement for a few days due to their screening process (which we, of course, passed). Upon receiving the lease agreement, we noticed that all of their addendums were standard with the exception of one - the "Bed Bug" addendum. In fact, on the first page of the typed/printed lease, the complex had actually hand written in that there was an additional addendum entitled "Bed Bug." In short, this addendum is NOT the National Apartment Association's standard addendum (which can be found in 99% of apartment community's leasing paperwork). Please beware - this community has added a non-standard bed bug addendum which essentially states that the tenant will be responsible for any bed bug damages inside of their own apartment whether or not they brought in the bed bugs. PLEASE note: my family nor I have ever had any issues with bed bugs, but what the average leasee isn't aware of is that bed bugs travel at a rate of FIVE FEET PER MINUTE. This makes apartment communities at a high risk for bed bug travel/infestation since a neighboring tenant could bring them into a building and their unaware neighbors (i.e. YOU) could be infested in a matter of hours, days, etc. without any prior knowledge of this issue.

Great customer service. Whenever I needed work done in my apartment, my issues were dealt with in a timely man Read Morener. The up keep of the property was maintained very well.

The office isn't as attentive as they appear to be once you sign the lease. There is only one trash compactor Read Morefor the whole complex and it is often broken. Having someone fix an issue in your apartment is hit or miss. There is no overhead lighting everything is pretty old and dingy.

When we got here the rug was not new. There were spots on the rug. There were digs in the aluminum in the kitc Read Morehen floor. The counters had marks in it from chopping food. It took awhile to get the bathtub and toilet clean like it is suppose to be. We cannot regulate the heat like we want to due to how old the control box is. We have to pay for both electric and gas. There is a dent in our closet door up top. leak in air conditioner, soaked all. They have to keep adding Freon to air conditioner.

It is the responsibility of the resident to pay for electric and gas (in apartment homes that have gas) however we do include water and trash in the rent.
