I've hated every minute of living here. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers for the entire building, only 1 dryer actually dries clothes completely, and that's because it's broken with no cool down cycle. The room is poorly ventilated so it is very humid in the building. Building always smells like body odor or dirty mop water (which sits untouched and rotting in the laundry room). It is also ungodly hot, I needed my windows open all winter and the air conditioner running all summer without break. Landlord/manager is sexist, he refused to believe the problems with the apartment until I got a male friend or family member to ask, then the issue was fixed. These issues included not having a working air conditioner in summer, a missing window screen, and broken smoke detectors. The apartment was filthy when I arrived, I needed to wipe down everything before I could even sit. What I thought was black grout in the tile turned out to be white. Blinds were so stained, brittle, and cheap, clearly from a former smoking resident, they snapped just from light cleaning, which I suspect I will be paying for when I move in a few months. I had to form a bond with the spiders in the apartment, because if I killed them there would be nothing to take care of the centipedes or cockroaches, which were not as big of an issue if you let the spiders live. The apartment sits on a busy street and a speed trap, but when the windows are closed this is not an issue. When the windows are open (and they have to be because of the uncontrollable heat) it is a bombardment of police sirens and gas/diesel smells. Do not live here.

I lived for three years in this apartment building from 2013 to 2016. This building is located on a very busy Chicago street with many nursing homes, health care institutions and rehab centers around it. The heavy traffic noise and ambulance and red fire truck sirens constantly disturb the tenants. Their sirens in the middle of the night are so load that you may jump out of bed, terrified as if you're hit by a fire truck in your room! The apartment complex is also next to Loyola University uptown campus and most of neighboring apartments and buildings are rented by students. You may also wake up in the middle of the night on weekends by drunk people shouting, laughing, and singing right under your window. The building is very old and poorly maintained. Management is located twenty miles away at Prospect Heights, IL. We had cockroaches and mice in our unit which we never could get rid of. The hallways and stairs are rarely cleaned and stink so bad most of the time that we couldn't invite our friends for the entire three years! The bathtub drain kept clogging every few months. Heating is provided by an old baseboard system which cannot be turned on or off in the units. We had to crack open the windows during snowy winter nights of Chicago to vent off the heat! In fact, the windows act like unit thermostats! Cooling system is only a small noisy A/C unit installed in the living room which hardly cools that small room, and the bedroom which has no cooling system at all becomes useless during summer time due to scorching heat. Don't even think about visiting this building. It's a total waste of time and money.

I have lived in a newly remodeled 1bB apartment with new appliances. The experience has been good after more than a year. The only problem I encounter was fast resolved by the manager of the building. Although it does not have central heating I am satisfied with the heating provided by the building. there are minor things regarding the building; the hallway smells really strong when is dinner time every day,not manager's fault. The pests are well controlled, they are always reminding us to report

Apartment was infested with bedbugs and repeated attempts to remove them were unsuccessful due to the fact they were in the walls. Management had the maintenance employee come in to spray the apartment as well as my furniture in attempts to remove the infestation instead of hiring an exterminator. After a few attempts to remove the bed bugs I had moved out of the apartment. Office staff was non existant except for the maintenance man who lived in the building.
