Kansas City Georgetown Apartments

I moved to a studio here last year. Upon move in there were many issues with maintenance that took weekly emails for two months to finally get resolved. After another few months, after receiving no notice, the pest control walked in my apartment while I was changing. The front desk ladies immediately admitted they didnt send any type of notice. I moved out at the end of the month since they broke the leasing agreement. They are 100% incompetent. If youd like to have privacy in your home, dont move here.

Boarded up fireplace, black mold that has been painted over, carpeting is pieced together, neighbors dogs not on leashes, maintenance that "duct tape" fix issues, rodents (squirrels and raccoons) constantly getting into the attics and takes days to get maintenance to respond to, leaky window that flooded the kitchen, heat and a/c controlled by management, numerous days without water, heat of water not properly maintained and often dodging the water in the shower to not get scalded. These were some of the issues we had while living at Georgetown. Read reviews and choose elsewhere.

I agree with the comments about the dampness during the summer and needing a dehumidifier just to keep it dry. Didn't use my heater during the winter because when you turn it on, all you get is cigarette smoke. And it's awful. During the summer is the same thing. I had to put dryer sheets over the vents so it offsets the smoke stench a little. Especially being a non smoker. Website states it has a fireplace in apartments. Yeah, it does, and a beautiful one that you CAN'T use. There is one good thing, the price includes utilities. And I like the size of my studio.

Water shut off 4 times in 6 weeks. Water had bad odor all the time from kitchen faucet. Electric breakers shut down in kitchen when using two appliances at same time. Neighbors cigarette smoke stench came under front door and through coat closet. Pipes made noise from upstairs.

Every time the furnace or a comes on it smells of cigarettes. I do not smoke and find this offensive. The out side door to the apartment building does not seal when shut if it ever even shuts. Apartment is damp in the summer and I had to buy a dehumidifier just to feel clean.
