I liked apartment when I lived there. I wished I saw this place earlier than when I moved in. One of the reasons some people are given this bad apartment review is mostly because of communication barriers and inpatient. Something to know is this apartment is not a luxury apartment, is an old upgraded apartment, very affordable situated in a good neighborhood with good schools, close to major roads, cities, and towns. Compare to most of the apartments in Laurel, this apartment is tranquil, you will not see people smoking or drinking around.
The apartment is operated under a few management. So the issue here is because of the few management team present, it makes it difficult for the team to explain the lease package to any new tenant. Everything is listed on their lease document. So be aware if you read the lease documents, you will not have any issue with the Manager or their cooperate office. That why I said the main problem is the communication barriers because most of us, including me, expect someone to tell us what's in the package because we do not have time to go over our lease documents.
The Manager answer every tenant request based on what is written in that contract. She does not cut a break to anyone. The most challenging thing I notice in this apartment is the electric bill is sometimes high, and the Gas is monitored by a different company I wish one company will be managing both. I am not sure why lots of the tenant dislike her management skill. If you are a business owner you will definitely keep an excellent manager like her.
So if you have children and you are on a budget, try this apartment. At least your kids will have a good education, and maintenance will always there to attend to your needs when you put a request; also, you do not have to worry about roaches and mouse.
I Moved out of here to my own house, if I should rent an apartment i will definitely go back to this apartment. I love Savage mill and i missed the area.
