Living in Litchfield, MN
Litchfield was known as the "Garden of the State" prior to being settled by immigrants looking for land. Known for starting off during the lumber industry boom, the town has taken great pride in its abundance of wood - so much so, that some of the sidewalks were originally constructed with wood. The town's first school was located in the home of a local lawyer named Ole Haverson-Ness. There are now two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
There are more than one dozen parks, nature preserves, and recreation areas throughout Litchfield for those interested in outdoor activities or escaping into the beautiful spaces. Some of Litchfield's best are Anderson Gardens, where a range of flora provides beautiful and fragrant attractions for all; Eagles Fields, which provides plenty of space for the city's many baseball games; and Legion Memorial Park.
