If you are relocating to Lawrenceville, NJ, to rent an apartment for work, chances are you probably don't know very much about this beautiful little neighborhood township. After all, with a population of only 4,000, it would not be considered a big bustling city. However, that is one of the best qualities of Lawrenceville. Because it is so close to bigger cities such as New York and Philadelphia, you can easily access a big city while enjoying what a small town has to offer.
The town was originally called Maidenhead at its founding in 1697 but was changed to Lawrenceville in 1838. Washington's troops marched through the town during the Revolutionary War, and Cornwallis even spent the night there. The town includes many historical buildings that stood during the founding days, including the Presbyterian Church, which is still used by the neighborhood residents.
Today, the small town has a mission to preserve Revolutionary War-era homes and buildings while attracting modern homes and businesses. It is a beautiful place to live and provides the residents with a feeling of neighborhood living.
A unique attraction to visit in Lawrenceville is the Grounds for Sculpture. This is a park full of beautiful sculptures and exhibitions. There is a restaurant on site, and they even hold concerts there.
For a little bit of local flare, visit The Tavern on the Lake, and enjoy a great meal and one of their craft beers on tap. They have sporting event parties, live entertainment and karaoke every Wednesday night.
If you prefer to attend your sporting events in person, you will not want to miss an opportunity to take the family out to the ballpark to see the Trenton Thunder. They might be a minor league team, but you will feel like you are attending a major league game.
There are some wonderful colleges near the city. Rider University is a beautiful, historical college located right in Lawrenceville. Mercer County Community College and Fortis College also both have campuses in the city. You will have no problem finding a place for rent near your school.
It will also be just as easy to rent an apartment close to work as there are many top employers located right in the city or close by. Rider University is a big employer because of the location of the campus. Bristol-Myers Squibb and Langan Engineering and Environmental Services also offer top employment opportunities.
