Hempstead Garden Apartments

Don't bother trying to move here! I lived here for over ten years, moved out in 2017... at one point management switched and this place went to absolute mess. They evicted people for what could only be assumed as racially motivated reasons and stopped all corrective maintenance. The grass became brown and filthy and there were deep potholes everywhere, nothing was taken care of. The people towards the mid-back of the complex suffered with roaches no matter how clean their apartment was. They plot and have people spy on you, we called maintenance to fix our air conditioning and a few weeks later our home was broken into, with our possessions stolen, which we know they saw. It happened right after my family left the house, so we know it was them. They will also go through your balcony to try and steal whatever you put there. They turned the front of the complex into a car chop shop, kept dogs in the abandoned buildings that cried all night, and lined the parking lot up with mysterious black sprinters, making it difficult to park. All of the businesses that surrounded the area left, with no surprise as no one wants to run their business near a junkyard apartment complex. They are cheap, shady thiefs. I don't want to get into race but it's a shame that other people of color would come into this community and ruin it the way they did.
